I’ve lived in Reno, Nevada all my life. It’s an amazing place to call home. Our community is filled with kind and thoughtful people, amazing artists and musicians, one of a kind boutiques and restaurants, and fun annual events. We are nestled on the eastern slope of the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains. There are a million hidden treasures to explore and take in.
Unfortunately, my fair city has received a bum wrap from folks who associate us with the stereotypes of the Las Vegas desert (500 miles south of us) and the infamous TV show Reno 911. FYI, if you see a show about Reno with a palm tree or a saguaro on screen, it’s not Reno.
Next Thursday, I will be launching Reno Revealed, a new weekly feature highlighting artists, restaurants, boutiques, non profit organizations and events from around the Reno/Tahoe area. I’m excited to kick it all off with an interview with the fabulous Mary Burrows of MB Art Studios. I hope locals and visitors alike will discover more of what Reno and Lake Tahoe have to offer.
Of course, there are many hidden gems I don’t know about. If you have a special request for a future feature, please email me. I’d love to hear from you!

What a great idea Angie! I’ll have to admit I don’t think about Reno much…looking forward to learning more about the “other city where people go to gamble and get married/divorced” which is about all I know!
Ha! Candy, sooo much more to Reno. I’m looking forward sharing with you!
Angie: great idea….I would love to share some of my favorites with you…
Thanks Sarah. I will call you to pick your brain. I have lots of great people and places in mind. Can’t wait to share with everyone!
