October 2023 note: Additional changes have been made to Squarespace navigation. For the most up-to-date walkthrough, head over this this post.

Squarespace has just rolled out a brand-new navigation menu this week (first week of August 2023). It might be a bit different from what I've shown you in my previous tutorials, but don't worry; I'll give you a quick overview of the changes.

When you open your website, you'll notice your main navigation is now located on the side, and it will say "Website" at the top. If it still says "Pages" at the top, with "Design" underneath, it means your website hasn't been updated yet, but it will be in the coming days.

Previously, you could access your site styles through the "design" tab on the left panel. But that tab is now gone. Instead, you'll find a paintbrush icon at the very top right hand corner. Click on it, and it will open up your site styles, where you can modify fonts, colors, and animations to customize your website's appearance.

For those of you who might be lost and having trouble finding what you need, you can use the forward slash “ / “ button to bring up a search bar. Just type in what you're looking for, like "announcement bar," and it will take you there.

It's important to note that not everyone might see these changes just yet, as they are still rolling out. But rest assured, they will be available to you soon!

So, don't be alarmed if you see some differences in Squarespace's navigation menu. The new layout is designed to make things even more convenient for you. If you have any questions or need help navigating these changes, feel free to reach out.
